2011 Eligibility Requirements
For the 2011 Awards, all current APS teachers who taught during the 2009-2010 school year and will be teaching during the 2011-2012 school year are eligible to apply for the award. Charter school principals and teachers are also eligible to apply.
Teachers are defined as those who plan, teach, and evaluate students. This includes classroom teachers in grades K-12 who teach core subjects such as reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies as well as teachers who teach non-core subjects such as music, PE, art, foreign language, etc.
*First year teachers and teachers in their first year at APS are not eligible at this time.
All current APS school leaders (principals and assistant principals) who led a school during the 2009-2010 school year and who will return as APS school leaders during the 2011-2012 school year are eligible. School leaders must have data from the 2009-2010 school year and data from the 2010-2011 school year (from the same school) to be eligible.
*First year school leaders and school leaders in their first year at APS are not eligible at this time.
