The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway celebrates the holidays with The Christmas Express that offers twenty fun-filled rides on the trail to the North Pole. The train trip offers passengers, Christmas stories, join the elves for Christmas Carols, and the best part, a visit with Santa Claus.

Atlanta has the spirit of Christmas starting with the Macy’s Department Store Tree Lighting. The tree lighting ceremonies include great musical performances. Macy’s has another tradition that has been yearly since 1953 from atop Rich’s downtown store. This tradition is none other than the Pink Pig celebrated now at the Lenox Mall and a favorite of children every year. Lake Lanier offers a special Christmas gift with the Magical Nights of Lights. The seven-mile light show ends with a tour of the Holiday Villiage where hot cups of cocoa and holiday treats await the holiday traveler.
