The Holiday Season Celebration begins this year on November 20 at Atlantic Station. There will be plenty of events and entertainment to get you in the holiday spirit. Festivities include live musical performances, kids activities, movies, arts & crafts, a fashion show, and the brightest display of Holiday Lights in Atlanta!
Special holiday events include It’s Snowing in Atlantic Station and The Steel Mill Express Children’s Train. It’s Snowing In Atlantic Station features lifelike snowfall occurring nightly around the Grand Christmas Tree in Central Park. Take a holiday ride with the kids on The Steel Mill Express Children’s Train. It’s a scaled-down version of a train tracing the industrial origins of the Atlantic Station area. Train ride tickets are $3 and can be obtained at the Steel Mill Express Ticket Depot (weather permitting).
Of course, the most popular kids’ event will be with Santa. Along with special arrivals at the Christmas Tree in Central Park, Santa will be available for visits and photos at Dillard’s. There even “Pups with Santa” events on Dec. 3-5 and 10-12 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Santa Claus makes a special visit at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 to ignite the Grand Christmas Tree and commence “The Lighting of Atlantic Station“. With over 250,000 lights covering eight blocks, it’s one of the best holiday light shows in the city. The Lighting of Atlantic Station will start November 20 and run through the Holiday Season including Thanksgiving Weekend, Christmas Weekend and New Years.

Atlantic Station is located among the skyscrapers in Midtown Atlanta. It is a multi-use facility with over 1.000.000 million square feet of open-air retail and entertainment. The Lighting of Atlantic Station
Saturday, November 20, noon-9pm in Central Park – Join us for The Lighting of Atlantic Station, Atlanta’s first and brightest Holiday celebration! See 11Alive and DaveFM personalities and local celebrities. Enjoy kid’s activities, make arts and crafts, a Holiday fashion show, musical performances and entertainment throughout the day. Then at 8:00pm, we’ll welcome Santa and flip the switch to illuminate over 250,000 lights throughout the Center, followed by a realistic snowfall. At 8:15pm enjoy a free screening of the Holiday Classic “A Christmas Story”.
Enjoy “The Holiday Shops” in Atlantic Station from 10am-10pm, an open-air market featuring handcrafted gifts. Take a ride on the Steel Mill Express Train from noon-8pm. Bring the children for the Kid’s Holiday Activity Zone featuring the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta INtown/Center for Puppetry Arts, Horizon Theatre, Midtown Bridge, Funky Hair, Cirque du Soleil, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Santa and more!
