Visit the many wineries of the new North Georgia Wine Country. Explore the beautiful vineyards and taste the new varieties that are winning awards for superlative wine. Northeast Georgia is home to award-winning wineries and is becoming a well-known wine destination.
Visitors can taste local favorites, like Muscadine and Scuppernong wines, or premium European wines, such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Viognier, and Cabernet. Northeast Georgia Wineries are within one to two hours from Gainesville and Atlanta.
Come explore the Wines of North Georgia
- The operating hours of each winery may vary. Please call ahead.
- The wineries are spread out through Northeast Georgia. Plan on staying overnight and enjoying more the next day.
- Bring your ID with you. The wineries are instructed to card everyone.
- Select a designated driver. Make sure you reward your friend with a bottle of wine to consume later.
- Include lunch or some kind of meal, or dine in one of our fabulous restaurants.

1. Château Élan Winery & Resort
Georgia’s largest winery, housed in a 16th century-style French Chateau is the focal point of the 3,500-acre complex which contains vineyards, a winery, four golf courses, an Inn & Conference Center, European-style health spa, tennis center, equestrian show center, welcome center, and winery tours. The winery features gourmet foods and unique items, and two restaurants. Location: 100 Tour de France, Braselton.

2. Crane Creek Vineyards
Located three miles north of the quaint college town of Young Harris, 1 hour from Gainesville, in the shadow of Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest point. The quaint B&B; houses a tasting room. Their 2001 Seyval Blanc shows great promise. Location: Crane Creek Rd. Young Harris.

3. Frogtown Cellars
A small farm winery, just recently opened. Future hotel, a conference center in the nearby town of Dahlonega. Location: Damascus Church Rd. Dahlonega. Scenic winery with dramatic country views, a tasting room & an Italian bistro with Sunday brunch.

4. Habersham Vineyards and Winery
Georgia’s oldest winery has won numerous national awards. It is located in the historic area of Nacoochee Village, with an Antique mall, Nora Mill, and an 1860s Granary close to Mount Yonah. The winery houses an elaborate gift shop with wine-related items and gourmet cooking products. Location: Nacoochee Village, Helen.

5. Three Sisters Vineyards
This family-owned vineyard and estate feature a large collection of Northeast Georgia folk-art. Located on 180 acres of land, and features vineyards of premium European grapes, a gazebo and event facilities. Location: Vineyard Way, Dahlonega.

6. Tiger Mountain Vineyards
Winner of two gold medals in 2001 for its Cabernet Franc. The winery is housed in a historic creamery, surrounded by vineyards. Location: Old Hwy 441, Tiger.

This family-owned vineyard and estate feature a large collection of Northeast Georgia folk-art.
